The Mumbai Rains - A Glimpse

For last one and a half week, Mumbai has been feeling the force of nature, full-blown against its massive population. In Maharastra, about a 1000 people have died due to the consequent landslide and floods. Few bloggers have set up a Mumbai Help blog - http://mumbaihelp.blogspot.com The short clip, shot in a small neighborhood, shows just the beginning -- when we were still rejoicing onset of the rains. I really felt like I was there with you, under your umbrella. Hope all your loved ones are safe and sound.

Hey...

Thanks. Yes, everyone's safe. Unfortunately, and like always, the biggest sufferers are the slum dwellers and the ones on the lower poverty zones. The rest just suffered damage of their properties...

For instance, one of my friends said that he had to walk in neck deep dirty water for 5 hours before he reached home... and then he found everything in his house soaked and floating...!

I can't imagine what that would be like to have that happen here.

Thanks for showing us this!!
